5 Star Hotel located in the heart of Mecca on one of the main roads to the Masjis El Haram, The Mecca Hotel is centrally and strategically located for visiting pilgrims. The iconic design will provide for a distinguished landmark in this rapidly growing area.
The geometrical design of the Mecca Hotel takes on its shape and volumes from the Ka’aba, located only two kilometers away. The pedestal volume for the hotel is designed as a cube and its fi nished texture and color picks up on the black granite that is used as the cladding for the ka’aba. The ribbons across the top of the pedestal resemble the golden horizontal Qur’anic scriptures of the kiswah.
Overall, the design takes into consideration elements of local culture and the natural context and incorporates it into an elegant shape and structure. Such incorporation has been vested in the design via geometric patterns which elegantly introduces an envelope that drapes this simple yet well-dressed structure.
